Block Editor Support

In Pie Calendar Pro 1.3.6 and free 1.2.7, we introduced a brand new way to add and manage your calendars directly through the WordPress Block Editor!

If you're using a site that supports the Block Editor, you no longer need to manually insert shortcodes.

How to Add the Pie Calendar Block

  1. Open the page or post where you want your calendar to appear.
  2. Click Add Block (+).
  3. Search for "Pie Calendar."
  4. Select the Pie Calendar block.
  5. Customize your calendar settings directly in the editor.

✅ What you see in the Block Editor closely matches what will appear on your live site!

✅ All the same options that were available via shortcode are now right inside the block.

Available Blocks

  • Pie Calendar Block: Display your event calendar anywhere.
  • Pie Calendar Event Info Block: Display event-specific details like start time, end time, and time zone, perfect for single event pages and templates.

Quick Notes

    • You can still use shortcodes if you prefer.
    • If you're using the Classic Editor plugin or a non-block editor site, the shortcodes still work perfectly and are the way to go.
    • Want to migrate from shortcode to block? Just add the block, select your settings, and remove the shortcode. No other special setup needed!

Why Use the Block Instead of Shortcode?

    • Visual editing: See changes live as you customize.
    • Faster setup: No need to memorize shortcode options.
    • Easier maintenance: Edit calendar settings right in the Block Editor sidebar.

Tip: You can also mix and match — use the block for new pages and keep shortcodes where they’re already working great!
